Shopped in Paris

I collect Derriere La Porte decorating items for my house, as I've mentioned several times on the blog already (to see some of my collection, read these posts for instance: 1, 2, 3 and 4), and since this brand is actually not only French, but also Paris based, I took the opportunity to get 2 new boxes to add to my collection when I went to Paris recently.

What I got was this box to put bills in, a great way to keep unpaid bills more organized, I think:

And I also got a box to keep sunglasses in.
I love both boxes, but the sunglasses box doesn't fit all of my sunglasses, I am afraid, so I think I might have to get another one of these boxes eventually.

Chanel in Paris

One of the brands you are bound to bump into when you go to Paris is of course Chanel. There is really a lot of Chanel stuff everywhere, like at the Galeries Lafayette, where they have their own Chanel department.
I also went to the Rue de Cambon store, of course, here are some pictures of that:

I did not, however, buy any Chanel items while in Paris, as I simply did not have time to go shopping that much, except for some beauty items. And the Rue de Cambon store was actually closed when I was in the area. But it is still really nice to just window shop too, and as I definitely plan to go back to Paris soon, I do hope I will have time to do some shopping at Chanel then. My current Chanel collection is definitely way too small!

Some photos from Laduree, Paris

When I told a French friend I was going to Paris, she told me I simply had to visit Laduree and have breakfast there. It didn't sound like a very tedious task, so when I noticed that there was indeed a Laduree on Champs Elysees, very close to where I was staying anyway, I obliged of course.

I shared a breakfast with my husband, and have to say that I really liked it.
The only thing that was a bit too heavy for me was the hot chocolate (my friend told me Laduree serves the best hot chocolate in the world, so of course I was curious), but everything else was simply divine!
And the presentation was lovely too. Everything just looked so perfect and posh at Laduree, somehow.
Of course I bought some macaroons after breakfast.
And I couldn't resist getting a bottle of their very own champagne either. It was pink, after all, and I do love champagne!

All in all, I can't wait to go back to Paris, and when I do, I will definitely go back to Laduree, as my friend was indeed totally right: Laduree is a must when you go!

Paris in pictures

I mentioned in my previous post that I was going to Paris. Well, now I've been, so it's of course time to share some pics of this amazing city with you!

I absolutely loved Galeries Lafayette! What an absolutely gorgeous department store!
Here are some pics of their food department. So many goodies of all kinds!
These are huge Nutella jars, containing 5 kg of Nutella!
If I understood correctly, these super adorable bottles contain some kind of syrup you add to regular water, in order to add flavor to it.
Tiny, limited edition Galeries Lafayette champagne bottles.
Berthillon, supposedly the place to have the world's best ice cream. So of course I had to give it a try, and I must admit, it was pretty good! Even for someone who is not in any way an expert on ice cream, like me.

More pics to follow when I have some more time to spare!

My new scarves

I've always liked traveling (and I am going on a trip - to Paris! - in less than a week, yay!), and I think that's why I have always liked maps as well, they do symbolize travel for me somehow.

Lately, I have been attracted to map prints of all kinds, but the only map print items I have actually gotten around to buying are these two scarves, with a world map print on them:
This one comes in a grey color scale
and this one has a multi color color scale, with blue seas, just like the world actually does have!

I am really looking forward to getting these 2 Ebay finds, so let's hope they get here soon!

(the images are from the Ebay auctions in question)
