Some photos from a recent vacation

To Germany.

This is one of the hotels I stayed at, the Hotel Excelsior Ernst in Cologne (highly recommended if you are ever in Cologne!).

And I finally got to try some real Pierre Herme macaroons! (I somehow missed them when I was in Paris)

The ones I tried were caramel with sea salt, and believe me, they were really amazing!
Of course I did some shopping as well, mainly at Louis Vuitton and Longchamp.

At Louis Vuitton, I got an amazing black, large silk and wool monogram scarf...
as well as guide books for Paris and Hong Kong (my next travel destination).
And at Longchamp I got some blue sneakers and a matching blue bag, for days when I need to run around town, yet still be very comfortable at the same time.

I am very happy with my purchases, although I did not have a chance to shop a whole lot!

On my wish list right now

I do plan to do some more online shopping in the next few days, but I am trying to prioritize between all the wants I have currently, as I am trying to shop a bit less in general. I feel like I have so much stuff, yet do not use most of it, so I try to be sure that I will actually use what I buy now before I make a purchase.

But two of the top candidates for coming purchases are definitely:

A pair of black Lanvin ballet flats, as I feel these would probably be an investment I would get a lot of use out of. I have spent so much money on basic black ballet flats over the years that just fell apart after a season or two that I feel I need something of better quality this time around.
A Bottega Veneta silver bracelet. I tend not to use that much jewelry on a day to day basis, but if I do wear something, it is almost always a bracelet, so I think I would use this, pretty basic, yet still very unique bracelet a lot if I owned it.

Shopped at La Redoute recently

I have mentioned how much I like La Redoute and their French style clothing and accessories previously, but now that it is winter, I decided that it was time to get some warm, yet timeless pieces again, and nobody does basic sweaters and cardigans in nice materials, like cashmere for a better price than La Redoute in my opinion, so of course it was my to go to place for warm purchases.

What I got was this:

A grey cashmere cardigan. I already had the black version of this, I got it last winter and was so happy with it that I decided to get another one, in another color. I think I might be getting more colors as well!
A grey cashmere cowl neck sweater. Because I need more cashmere in my closet, especially since I managed to ruin some pieces I had had for years last winter.
A navy striped sweater. Because I am into stripes at the moment and made a decision to get more navy pieces, as navy is truly a classic color, that I really like, but I feel like I don't have enough navy pieces as of yet.

If you are at all interested in La Redoute's products, I can really recommend giving them a try, as the shipping is really fast and their products very nice (qualitywise as well) indeed.

(this post is NOT sponsored by La Redoute in any way, but truly a heartfelt recommendation from my part)

I have got the auction bug!

And I am not even talking about Ebay, although I am a big fan of Ebay as well, to be honest.

But no, this time I am referring to actual, old fashioned auctions. You see, I never realized you can find very chic items indeed at auctions too. I mean, you should see some of the jewelry for sale in the auctions I have been going to!

But as a newbie at auctions, I decided to not start with the expensive jewelry, but rather to go for smaller pieces to begin with, like this vintage Hermes ashtray:
I was quite pleased to be the winning bidder on this one, as I have seen people use these gorgeous ashtrays for jewelry storing purposes (Rachel Zoe is perhaps the person who is best known for doing this), and I thought I would do the same, as I am planning on finally getting myself a pretty vanity for our bedroom. And what would look prettier on it than a piece of Hermes?

Today I'm loving...

... this gorgeous Skyline Gift Wrap set from Suck.uk.com that makes your packages look like tiny buildings. So pretty!
A perfect option for anyone looking to gift wrap truly unique and stunning packages, I think!

And needless to say, I will be ordering one of these sets soon myself, even though I don't have a specific recipient in mind yet...

My new Gucci sunglasses

I am one of those people who still wears over sized sunglasses, simply because I think they are the most flattering for my face, so while I admire other shapes and sizes when it comes to sunglasses (mainly cat eye), I still wear the same shape and size I have for years. So when my trusted, favorite day to day sunglasses - a pair from Dior - recently broke, there was no question in my mind that they needed to be replaced with another black over sized pair as well.

I had never owned a pair of Gucci sunglasses up until then, but when I visited a store with a large selection of sunglasses where I lived, my favorite pair happened to be a Gucci one, this one:

So far we are getting along pretty well, but it remains to be seen if I will wear these daily for as many years as I did with the Dior ones.

My current obsession

When Kenzo's by now iconic tiger print first came out, I liked it, but figured that this print is most likely something you grow tired of very soon, so I never invested in any Kenzo tiger piece, something that I now regret, as I still have not grown tired of these pieces in the slightest. Instead, I now somehow like them even more, even though I usually do not like prints like these for very long.

Luckily, it is never too late to correct mistakes you made when it comes to fashion, as I can still get some Kenzo tiger pieces of course. The question for me at the moment is not "Should I get some Kenzo tiger pieces?", but rather: "Which piece or pieces should I be getting?".

Here are some of the pieces I am considering:

- A Kenzo tiger wrist watch, as ASOS, one of my favorite online stores, has several nice ones to choose from:
* A black one is always a classic, I suppose.
* But isn't this white one really cute too?
* And blue is one of my favorite colors!
- A Kenzo tiger sweatshirt. These are somewhat of a classic, after all, and there are so many nice varieties to choose from!

(all sweater images from my Pinterest Kenzo board)

- The longer Kenzo tiger mini dress is also nice, as it is similar to the Kenzo sweatshirts, but with a twist.

- Kenzo tiger socks. (the ones in the pic are for men but surely there are ones for women out there as well?)
- A small Kenzo tiger sweater for my baby. (well, I guess technically this would not be for me, but aren't these baby Kenzo tiger clothes just too cute to resist?)

I will keep you guys updated on what I decide to get of course!

Travelling again...

... and this time actually to one of my favorite cities: London.
However, I actually got pretty sick during the trip, so I did not have as much time as I would have wanted to explore the city and do some shopping (although I did manage to visit my favorite department store Harrods at least!).
But being sick in London is not so bad. They do tea very well, after all, and they have great TV, so if you are just in your hotel room ordering room service all day there are far worse places to be than in London!

Shopped: Another polka dot item!

I mentioned my current obsession with polka dot items here on the blog a while ago. And I still haven't grown tired of these little dots, which is why I purchased yet another polka dot item online just now.
I am talking about a polka dot tunic over at Modcloth, that I thought would look so cute with leggings, another summer favorite of mine, so I just couldn't resist it.

Vacation

Unfortunately, I really don't have enough time to blog these days, as having a child really takes much more time (thus leaving you with less free time as well) than I could have ever imagined. However, I did manage to go on vacation recently (with the baby), and recharge my batteries quite a bit.
(we had our own private pool, that we could enter straight from the hotel room!)

The hotel we stayed at is this one, in case you're curious.

So who knows? Maybe this much needed holiday will give me some inspiration to blog a bit more in the coming days as well?

Today I'm loving...

This travel related t-shirt in a gorgeous color over at Modcloth.
Having become a mother, I do not always want to dress up like I did before. Instead, I am fine with more casual outfits on days when there is nothing special going on (like today!), but I don't really have a lot of t-shirts. So I do think I might do well by investing in this, especially since I do agree with the message on it very much!

Today I'm loving...

Charlotte Olympia's really cute cat themed Kitty flats, as well as the Pussycat Purse.

While I am actually more of a dog person, I do actually have a cat these days too, so I am totally feeling the cat theme anyway.

While the material might not be very upscale (especially considering the price! yikes!), I do think it is pretty perfect for summer. Raffia just screams summer to me somehow...
