A new, studded purchase

I just got a very cool jacket, a black jacket with studded sleeves, from Mango.

It is no-where near cold enough to wear this jacket yet where I am, but it sure makes me look forward to fall a bit more!

I got my jacket in an actual Mango store, but the pics in this post are from ASOS, where you can buy the same jacket.

The perfect place to buy gifts online

When I used to live close to an Urban Outfitters store (I don't anymore, I am afraid), I must admit I bought quite a few things there, so I was thrilled to discover that Urban Outfitters actually have an online store that delivers worldwide recently, since it meant I got get back to checking out their absolutely charming selection on a regular basis, and actually get the things I liked again.

So when it was time for me to start looking for some presents for some upcoming birthdays, I of course decided to check their present section out. And I must say Urban Outfitters is absolutely great for this!

I won't reveal what I actually ended up getting, since at least one of the people I bought stuff for knows about this blog, so it might ruin the surprise for her, but some of the great presents you can get for someone over there include:

Anna Sui's absolutely gorgeous beauty accessories, like this brush stand
or why not a oil control paper box, filled with blotting papers?
A very chic door mat for any Francophile you may know.
and a very adorable cut lace vanity tray. (I actually want this really badly myself!)
So if you are looking for affordable, yet unique presents for someone, definitely check the Urban Outfitters online store out! It definitely helped me get all the presents I needed really fast!

Today I'm loving...

... the fact that Finnish brand Marimekko used older models (as well as regular ones, of course) in their fashion show at New York Fashion Week. This is Carmen Dell' Orifice who looks amazing, at age 81!
I love the fact that she was barefoot in a fashion show too, very charming!

Today I'm loving...

Erin Fetherston's Spring 2013 collection. Great, timeless colors, wonderful detailing and the lovely mix of super light fabrics and hardware. One of her best collections ever, I would say!

What I am doing right now

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I am going travelling soon, so I have quite a few things to finish up before that. But I still take the time to do some shopping, both for the upcoming fall (for some reason, buying fall items and winter stuff is always so much fun, much more fun than shopping for the summer. I have never really understood why...) as well as for my vacation. Which is kind of silly, because I am actually going to Asia, where shopping is supposed to be really cheap, so people are actually recommending me to travel there very light, with basically not much in my luggage, since I should be shopping there anyway. But since I've never been to the places I am going to, I am not really sure I will like the stuff on offer there, so I am still looking for some holiday garments online as we speak, just in case.

Old habits die hard, I guess. I've always liked both planning holidays as well as shopping for them almost as much as I like going on them. It's just so much fun to imagine what your holiday will be like!

As a part of this routine, I will also be watching movies that are set in the countries that I am going to. I don't always do this, but I try to do it when I am going to a completely new country, but only a week or two before you actually go, since it really helps you get into the mood for the holiday. And you get to see what the place actually looks like a bit more than in photos too. Tonight I will be watching the old Leonardo di Caprio flick The Beach, since one of the countries I will be going to is indeed Thailand, where the movie is set and filmed!

(the garment in the picture is from Island Importer, one of the online stores I've been checking out for holiday garments. They have a nice selection of holiday wear, but actually specialize in beach weddings, and clothes for them. Now, I won't be attending a beach wedding myself while on the trip, but since I don't like to "dress down", even on holiday, their beach wedding selection fits my holiday style quite nicely. Too bad the selection isn't bigger though!)

Thinking about blogging more

When I first started blogging (way, way back. At least it feels like it now!), I was really excited about it, and I still love having a blog, where I can write down my ideas, collect things that inspire me, and more, but lately, I have had less time to blog, due to work, having a lot of events to go to, and being busy in general. But I feel kind of bad about that. I see that people still visit the blog, and I know myself how frustrating it can be when bloggers do not update their blogs, so I have decided I must get better at this. But unfortunately, I have a long trip coming up soon (read more about it here, if you are interested), so it will take a while before you guys notice any difference.

But since I have decided to put some more effort into blogging, I am also thinking about other things I can change on the blog. The blog has looked pretty much the same since I first started blogging, after all, and while I am not unhappy with the blog, I feel some kind of change could be nice.

So if any of my lovely readers have some ideas on how this blog could be improved, feel free to give me suggestions! Is there anything you would like to read more about? Less about? What annoys you about the blog? (I know what annoys me... I just checked it on my smart phone for the first time recently, and it really doesn't look that good, so create mobile website is definitely something I should consider, in case anyone else reads blogs on their phone!)

Any thoughts are basically appreciated! A lot!

Today I'm loving...

... several looks in the Chanel Fall 2012 Couture show. Which is kind of interesting, because I've never really been a big Chanel girl. But in the last few years, I have really started warming up to the newer Chanel pieces! (Plus, I love their beauty products and makeup packaging. They feel insanely luxurious!)
I love the top. And long skirts for winter is a great idea too!
Not only is the dress gorgeous, I love the pattern too!
I love how Chanel still finds ways to re-invent their classic Chanel suit. This is not necessarily something I would wear myself, but it definitely looks like a Chanel suit, while still looking like something I haven't seen before, so I love that!

What I did this weekend

A few weeks ago, I told you about how I went to the Yohji Yamamoto exhibition in a nearby city. This weekend, I went to see another amazing fashion exhibition, at the old city hall in Tel Aviv, Israel.
(not a part of the exhibition, simply pretty)

Some of my favorite items that I saw are these:
Shoes made out of mirrors, very cool (but hard to give justice in a photo)!
Shoes made out of rope.
Yep, that's part of Elvis!
So Dior New Look inspired, love it!
The detail at the hip was gorgeously detailed!
Hope everyone else is having an amazing weekend as well!
