Started shopping for fall

If you are into fashion and like adding new trends to your wardrobe each season, you probably know by now that it is generally a good idea to start shopping for a new season as soon as the new stuff starts arriving to the stores, because at least all the good stuff tends to sell out pretty fast in the beginning of a season. Which is pretty much now, for the Fall 2012 season.

So I must admit I have already started shopping for the upcoming fall. Today, I ordered two spiked moto jackets from Forever 21, for instance.

I just love the spike details, and leather jackets in general. I actually have several black leather jackets already, but not one in taupe, so that felt like a nice addition to the colors in my wardrobe.

Today I'm loving...

... the Balmain Spring 2011 collection. Balmain managed to put together a kick ass collection once again, which is pretty impressive considering how great their last collections have been.

I love the silhouttes and the use of all the red, which looks great. And I've decided to splurge on a quite expensive leather jacket I've been eyeing after all, after seeing pics from this collection. If leather jackets will be good enough for Balmain next spring, they should be for me too!

New buys

I got two new, short biker jackets in leather yesterday. I have been thinking about getting a leather jacket for a while now, but I have been putting it off because I wasn't sure if I should really be focusing on leather jackets when I am trying to build a capsule wardrobe.

But in the end I could not resist (probably because someone stole my favorite leather jacket last year - yes, stole it! - and left me with only one, a grey one that I love, but that is not really suitable with all outfits), so yesterday I came home with one navy leather jacket and one black one.

(I know it looks like the same jacket, but it isn't, they're just both dark. And yes, I am looking for a new camera, so hopefully my photos should be better soon!)

A thing that made me go "Hmmm?!"

Okay, so I know not everyone will agree with me on this, but I saw something on Net-a-porter today that I really didn't think worked very well. I am all for mixing and matching different styles, but this Christopher Kane Embroidered Leather jacket is just weird!

I mean, flowers just really do not suit a leather jacket, and this jacket makes Christopher Kane look schitzofrenic more than anything!

Today I'm loving...

... something that I actually usually love too, and that is: Things that are not quite what the appear to be.

Like this Donna Karan jacket. Can you believe that it is a leather jacket? The material just doesn't look like leather AT ALL, and that's exactly what makes it so cool, if you ask me.

I'd love to get my hands on this one, but living in a country where it's extremely hot for the most part of the year (which means I'd have to be insane to wear a leather jacket between April and November) and having way too many leather jackets already makes me think I can't quite justify buying it.

So I'm passing, yet drooling, for now...
