Some more images from my last trip

Images speak more than a thousand words, so besides the photos I showed you guys in my previous post, I decided to show you some more, instead of going into too much detail in writing.

Some of the high lights of my trip were:

- Shopping
I love Marimekko, so visiting their flagship store was a great experience!

One of my favorite window displays was this Louis Vuitton one, with a vintage type writer:
And when I returned home, I saw the exact same display in my local Louis Vuitton store too!

- Having some goodies
- Seeing interesting historical buildings

as well as going to very charming restaurants and coffee shops:

So all in all, it was an excellent trip, which is good, since I won't be going on another one for quite some time.

Today I'm loving...

... the fact that the Finnish national airline Finnair has decided to start working with one of the most famous Finnish fashion brands ever: Marimekko, that I adore as well. (I actually have my hair wrapped in one of their towels after a shower as I write this!)
This means all Finnair airplanes will have Marimekko products in them, starting next year. Can you imagine how much more fun it will be to get your airplane food like this:
compared to how we are used to getting it? Or wrapping yourself in a pretty Marimekko blanket when you get cold?

I love this idea, and hope other airlines "go fashion" soon as well. I will definitely try to fly with Finnair to check this out as soon as I have a chance next year!

Today I'm loving...

... the fact that Finnish brand Marimekko used older models (as well as regular ones, of course) in their fashion show at New York Fashion Week. This is Carmen Dell' Orifice who looks amazing, at age 81!
I love the fact that she was barefoot in a fashion show too, very charming!

Should I or shouldn't I?

I always seem to get into these dilemmas when I don't know if I should buy something or not. My latest dilemma is if to splurge on two sets of Marimekko bedding. For those of you who have been reading this blog for a while, the fact that I am a huge Marimekko fan will come as no surprise, and I have been dreaming of getting a Marimekko bed set since I first saw that Carrie had one on Sex and the City.

So I was thrilled to see that you can find Marimekko bedding on sale now!
This is one of the sets I like:
And this is the other one:

To be honest, I've never bought bedding this expensive before. It's not that I buy really bad bed wear or anything, I've always just managed to find pretty good budget versions. So I am not sure expensive bedding is really worth it, which makes it harder for me to make a decision. (And of course, my husband thinks is completely crazy to pay these amounts for bed wear, but that doesn't really influence my decision as much...)

Oh won't you please take me home

One of the things I miss the most while living abroad, far far away from Scandinavia is all the design I grew up with. I find pretty things here too, sure, but typical Scandinavian design will always have a special place in my heart.

Today I've been lusting after these items, from Finnish Marimekko and Iittala. These items can all be bought online at Finnish Design Shop, but I think I will have to settle for just the dress this time...
