Some photos from my recent trip to Berlin

I recently visited the German capital Berlin for the first time. I wasn't really sure what to expect, as I had talked to both people who absolutely loved the city and to some that were less than impressed by it before. I personally ended up liking Berlin a lot, it really is a very interesting city, full of contrasts, and of course the impressive KaDeWe department store might be one of the best ones I have ever been to!

(A small part of Paris right in Berlin!)
(The top floor of KaDeWe, which is actually a good court. And a really good one too!)
(Details from the hotel I stayed in, the Palace Hotel. This is in their lobby)
(I would have definitely wanted to have a drink here if it was just open as Moet & Chandon is my favorite brand of champagne. But unfortunately the weather was not exactly "sitting outside and drinking champagne"-y during my visit...)

Of course I had to do some shopping as well, but not as much as you'd think. I was busy walking around and exploring the city, so I did not have as much time for shopping excursions as I would have wanted. But I did manage to find enough time to buy 2 Louis Vuitton city guides and a Louis Vuitton pochette!

I had been wanting a pochette for a while but never got around to getting one so I am glad I finally got that out of the way!

And I did manage to shop quite a bit at the Diptyque stand at KaDeWe too!
So all in all, good shopping scores, cool city and a lot of fun! I think I will definitely try to go back to Berlin again!

Shopped this weekend

This weekend I both visited a large mall in order to shop and did some online shopping.

At the mall, I got a miniature set of Louis Vuitton's new scents, their first scents in a really long time, that I had been curious about for quite some time. And I just could not choose one scent in the store, I had to try them all so the miniature set seemed like a good idea.

Plus, the set is so pretty!

Online, I decided to get some another Dolce and Gabbana Majolica patterned piece (as I suspected I would do pretty soon here), this time a bag: the mini Sicily bag.

Small bags are kind of my thing these days as I try to carry as little as possible with me. Makes running after a toddler much easier, believe me!

Some photos from my trip to Paris

So after sharing pics of my trip to Provence here and here, I thought it was about time I shared some photos from my trip to Paris as well. (Which reminds me, I must show you the things I got at the Louis Vuitton store at Galeries Lafayette next!)

Here are some highlights:
 Outside the Louvre
 Outside Musee D'Orsay

Even the Apple stores are stylish in Paris!

I am weird in the sense that I really like the doors in Paris. To the extent that I take photos of them!

As you can see, the weather was pretty grey and rainy in Paris, just like it was in Provence when I was there but I still had a wonderful time. Paris is always Paris!

What I have shopped so far in Hong Kong

Well, besides a hairbrush that I had to get at Muji as I forgot my regular one at home, I have only made purchases at Hermes and Louis Vuitton so far, but aren't those some of the best stores to shop in anyway?

My purchases at Louis Vuitton were some travel books...
and a black simple pochette.
Some might say that is a boring option for your first Louis Vuitton bag, but I actually don't think so at all. I am not very into super big logos, so this is more discreet and therefore more to my liking.

And at Hermes I had to get two scarves of course. I went with the classic 90x90 size.
These are actually my first Hermes scarves too, so they are really special to me for that reason.
This one is called Le Voyage de Pytheas and I love it since I am a big lover of maps.
And this one is called La Maison des Carres and I fell for it since it is kind of funny and has a lot of detail so I feel I will not get tired of it too fast.

Some photos from a recent vacation

To Germany.

This is one of the hotels I stayed at, the Hotel Excelsior Ernst in Cologne (highly recommended if you are ever in Cologne!).

And I finally got to try some real Pierre Herme macaroons! (I somehow missed them when I was in Paris)

The ones I tried were caramel with sea salt, and believe me, they were really amazing!
Of course I did some shopping as well, mainly at Louis Vuitton and Longchamp.

At Louis Vuitton, I got an amazing black, large silk and wool monogram scarf...
as well as guide books for Paris and Hong Kong (my next travel destination).
And at Longchamp I got some blue sneakers and a matching blue bag, for days when I need to run around town, yet still be very comfortable at the same time.

I am very happy with my purchases, although I did not have a chance to shop a whole lot!
