Today I'm loving...

... this gorgeous Alexander McQueen double breasted blazer.

I love hounds-tooth patterns as you may know, and I have a rather new fondness for blazers, too, after my beloved navy blue Yves Saint Laurent blazer went missing during my move a couple of months back (I am still in mourning!!), so I am trying to find a new absolutely stunning blazer to replace it with. I am not sure this blazer is as versatile as much YSL one (although it does look pretty darn perfect for work), but it's definitely a contender!

Today I'm loving...

...this very pretty Alexander McQueen dragonfly printed silk-blend suit, with white patterned pants as well as a jacket.
I really want to get this suit, but since I know I never ever wear suits (they just don't fit my lifestyle, I don't have a very formal job where they would be appropriate or anything) and both the jacket (that you can get here) and the pants (available here) are quite expensive, I can't think of any justification for getting these pieces. They simply just wouldn't be put to good use by me.

But a girl can always dream that some other company comes up with a more affordable lookalike set, right?

If you've seen anything even remotely similar anywhere, please let me know! This look is gorgeous, after all!

Today I'm loving...

... the gorgeous Alexander McQueen gown Amanda Seyfried wore at the The Sun Military Awards in London a while ago. (But I only saw a picture of it when I went to the beauty salon today, which is why I am blogging about it only now)
So feminine and pretty, and she looks gorgeous in it, even though I am usually not that impressed by her style. So a really good choice for her, I would say!

Online wedding bells

I went to a wedding this week, that was quite lovely. The bride wore a beautiful gown, and these gorgeous Alexander McQueen shoes:
I was very excited to see these shoes IRL, since I have been drooling over them online for ages now. But that wasn't really the most interesting part of the wedding. Instead, their story was very cute. You see, they met on an online dating site, and I know a lot of people really don't think online dating ever works, but I do. I have seen several examples of it in the past, but this is the first couple that I know personally who actually got married after trying a free online dating site.

So if any of you are still so old fashioned that you think only weird people use these services, and that nothing good ever comes out of them, think again! Sometimes they do end up changing lives too!

Today I'm also loving...

... this gorgeous photo from the Alexander McQueen Fall 2011 Campaign, with Raquel Zimmermann and photographed by David Sims.
As you know, Alexander McQueen is one of my absolute all time favorite brands, if not even THE favorite brand, and I think this apocalyptic themed photograph captures the spirit of the Fall 2011 collection wonderfully.

The fall collections are upon us!

I simply love this time of year. You are starting to get a first glimpse (well, besides the glimpses you see on Style.com when the collections are first shown) of all the fall collections, and can start planning your coming purchases for the next seasons.

This time of year used to be even better when you were in school of course, but it is still pretty cool, and I have already found quite a few gems among the things that are out by now. I mentioned some of the things I loved in the H&M fall collection in my last post, and now I thought I would also show you some of my favorites on Net-a-Porter.

This Printed plissé silk dress from Bottega Veneta, the masters of elegance, is one of them:

It's a typical classic dress with a twist, which I love, and the combination of white and black in this pattern is timeless, making this an extremely good investment.
And this Astrid printed silk-voile gown by Erdem is another one. Extremely expensive, of course, so not something I will actually be ordering, but I think it is absolutely stunning, and if my clothing budget for the season was (a lot) bigger, I would definitely get it.

Last but not least, it is probably not that surprising that my favorite brand Alexander McQueen managed to produce something amazing: this lovely brocade dress:

It's fun, flirty and very typical and classic Alexander McQueen!

Today I'm loving...

Kate Middleton's perfectly matched outfit in this picture.
I've never been a big fan of royalty, but I have to say that Kate manages to impress me a lot. But maybe that's just because she seems to love Alexander McQueen (the coat dress is from the Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011 collection)? That is one of my absolute favorite brands as well.

But I have to say I really love the shoes, the hat and the bag as well. They are all perfectly matched, and while some people say that's oldfashioned, I think it is just the opposite: It shows that she is able to do things her own way, no matter what may or not be fashionable at the moment. Gotta love that!

Today I'm loving...

These adorable Alexander McQueen skull flats.
I have the matching scarf, and I like matching things, so this would really suit my wardrobe rather well.

Today I'm loving...

... the fact that Net a porter is having a huge sale right now (although the only thing I wanted, an Alexander McQueen bag, sold out really fast) and this gorgeous Valentino dress:

It would be absolutely perfect for this awesome party on New Year's Eve that I am invited to!

I have to say I was honestly very sad when I heard that Valentino Garavani himself had decided to retire. But his legacy still lives on in this brand, for sure!

On my wishlist right now

I used to be really into interior design, but having decorated my apartment so it looks perfect (to me anyway) by now, it is not something I spend a lot of time on anymore.

But that was before I saw The Rug Company!

They have the most amazing rugs and pillow cases, designed by designers such as Alexander McQueen...

... Matthew Williamson...
... and Lulu Guinness.

Aren't these pieces just gorgeous? I really want to get the ones from Alexander McQueen!

Better late than never!

Last winter, I suddenly got an idea (probably from an old editorial or something, I don't remember) that I wanted a cape. You know, like Carrie used to have on Sex and the City. But I could not find a cute cape anywhere!
So I actually started making one... by hand! But then spring came, and working on a cape did not make much sense anymore, and I forgot about my little project.

Until today. I ran into several capes today (including this amazing one from Alexander McQueen), it seems they are everywhere at the moment. So I think I need to finish my project after all...

A void that can never be filled

Most of the time, I am pretty happy with what I have. But then there are times where you wish you were much, much richer, so you could afford a whole collection of Alexander McQueen designs...

This happened to me today, when I saw the Alexander McQueen Resort 2011 collection. I love it! It is so Alexander McQueen, but also not, at the same time. It is simply brilliant!

So yeah, today I would definitely want to have another salary to spend... just on these pieces! They are all stunning!

Arm Candy

I love this new Alexander McQueen bag (he calls it Faithful, by the way, which I think is a really sweet name for a bag!). It's just so simple, yet special. You could use it every day, yet still have something that really stands out.

I actually don't know anything about McQueen bags, since I don't own one myself (all I have so far is some of his gorgeous scarves), but this bag really looks like it's longing to belong to my bag collection...
